Everything else in this vision rests on trust in local institutions. Residents should be able to see what is being worked on, how money gets spent, what was decided and why, and whether things are actually getting better.
We're exploring what good transparency looks like at small-town scale. Plain-language reporting, open data, public dashboards of the outcomes people care about, and decision logs anyone can follow without special training.
The Lab is advisory and independent. It doesn't replace elected government, and it holds itself to the same standard it suggests for others. Our funding, methods, conflicts, and results are all published for anyone to check.
