Plain-language privacy

What we collect

Browsing: we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. That means Google sets cookies and receives usage data when you browse this site. What we see on our end is aggregate numbers, like page counts and rough locations, not names. If you would rather not be counted, an ad blocker or your browser’s tracking protection will block it and the site works exactly the same. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) also keeps the standard technical logs every website host keeps.

We do not run advertising and we set no advertising cookies of our own.

Forms: only what you type. If you share an idea, join the project, apply to a fellowship, propose a partnership, or subscribe to the newsletter, we receive the information you chose to submit, typically a name, an email address, and your message.

What we do with it

We use form submissions to do the thing you asked: read your idea, follow up about participation, or send you the newsletter. Ideas may be published or discussed publicly in anonymized form, but never with your name or contact details unless we ask you first.

What we never do

• Sell, rent, or trade your information. Not to anyone, not ever.
• Share it with political campaigns or advertisers.
• Send marketing beyond the newsletter you asked for.
• Require an account or login to read anything we publish.

Leaving is easy

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us at any time to delete anything you have submitted, and we will.

Changes

If this policy changes, the change and its date will be noted here in the same plain language. This version was published in July 2026 for the site’s launch.
